#3165 ASSOCIATION BETWEEN CKD-MBD AND MORTALITY IN OLDER PATIENTS WITH ADVANCED CKD – RESULTS FROM THE EQUAL STUDY

چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims Chronic Kidney Disease - Mineral Bone Disorder (CKD-MBD) is a common complication of CKD, associated with higher mortality in dialysis patients. Its impact non-dialysis patients remains mostly unknown. We investigate the associations between parathyroid hormone (PTH), phosphate, calcium (and their interactions) all-cause, cardiovascular (CV), non-CV older advanced CKD. Method used data from EQUAL study, which included aged ≥65 eGFR ≤20 ml/min/1.73m2 six European countries. Cox models were to assess association baseline time-dependent CKD-MBD biomarkers CV, mortality. Models sequentially adjusted for other mineral biomarkers, age, sex, country, eGFR, albumin, BMI, comorbidities medications. Effect modification was also assessed. Results In 1294 patients, prevalence at 94%. Both PTH (aHR 1.12, 95%CI 1.03-1.23, p 0.01) phosphate 1.35, 1.00-1.84, 0.05), but not 1.11, 0.57-2.17, 0.76), all-cause Calcium independently mortality, modified effect highest risk found both hypercalcemia hyperphosphatemia. level CV whereas Conclusion very are this population. Association of CKD-MBD Markers with All-Cause Mortality in Prevalent Hemodialysis Patients: A Cohort Study in Beijing
The relationships between all-cause mortality and serum intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH), calcium, and phosphate are fairly diverse in patients on maintenance hemodialysis according to prior studies. This study evaluated the association of chronic kidney disease-mineral and bone disorder (CKD-MBD) markers with all-cause mortality in prevalent hemodialysis patients from 2007 to 2012 in Beijing,...
متن کاملGaps between Global Guidelines and Local Practices in CKD-MBD
The term 'chronic kidney disease-mineral bone disorder' (CKD-MBD) is a new term that, in contrast to the old term 'renal osteodystrophy', implies a systemic syndrome associated with cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. This new terminology is in line with previous studies that show elevated serum calcium, phosphorus, and parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels associated with increased cardiovascul...

Association between physical performance and all-cause mortality in CKD.
In older adults, measurements of physical performance assess physical function and associate with mortality and disability. Muscle wasting and diminished physical performance often accompany CKD, resembling physiologic aging, but whether physical performance associates with clinical outcome in CKD is unknown. We evaluated 385 ambulatory, stroke-free participants with stage 2-4 CKD enrolled in c...
